The CANNEX mock dispensary study is assessing purchasing patterns of young adults in dispensaries, which will help us understand how and why things like packaging, product placement, price, and potency affect someone’s decision when purchasing a cannabis product.
Why is this study being done?
The purpose of this research is to help us understand how and why young adults come to the decisions they make when they purchase cannabis in a retail dispensary.
Is this study for me?
You may qualify for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- 21-30 years old
- Have used cannabis products containing THC (not just CBD-only products) in the past year
You don’t need to be a regular user of cannabis to join the study.
This screening survey will help us determine your eligibility for the study. If you are eligible and get enrolled in the study, you will have the opportunity to complete all portions of the study.
What will happen if I participate in the study?
The study involves visiting our model dispensary space (The CANNEX) on the Health Sciences Campus of the University of Southern California. You will participate in a 15- to 25-minute simulated shopping experience in The CANNEX, followed by a 15- to 25- minute interview about your purchases. Lastly, you will complete a 10-minute survey about your experience in the space.
All research procedures will be conducted in-person on the USC Health Sciences Campus. We will provide further instructions for where to report if you are eligible to participate.
Will I be paid for being in this study?
You will receive a $100 gift card that can be used at many online retailers (e.g., Target, Walmart, Amazon, Starbucks, and other retailers that accept Visa gift cards) for completing all aspects of the study.
Will it cost me anything to be in this study?
It will not cost you anything to participate in this study.
