Meredith Xepoleas – Medical Student, USC Keck School of Medicine
Meredith is a medical student at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelors of Arts in History. Her research interests include mental health and substance use within vulnerable populations. She is passionate about advocating for increased access to mental health services for healthcare professionals. She plans to pursue a career in psychiatry.
Isaac Bernstein – Undergraduate Research Assistant, USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences
Isaac Bernstein (he/him) is a sophomore at the University of Southern California, studying psychology on the pre-medical track with a minor in addiction science. His research interests include psychology, substance use disorders, mental health treatment for adolescents, and the therapeutic use of psychedelics. Outside of research, Isaac enjoys film photography, trying new foods, playing soccer, and fashion.
Devin Ayala – Undergraduate Research Assistant, USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences
Devin is a fourth-year undergraduate student studying Environmental Science and Health at USC, and pursuing a progressive degree in Global Medicine through USC Keck School of Medicine. He works with student health to organize and execute educational programming events throughout the school year. Devin aims to highlight the intersectionalities of our environment and health through research, volunteering, and coursework. Jordyn Solter – Undergraduate Research Assistant, USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences
Jordyn is a third-year undergraduate student at USC, majoring in psychology and minoring in forensics and criminality. Her research interests include studying mental health treatments and interventions, as well as the intersection between the legal and mental health systems. Jordyn also enjoys going to concerts, trying new restaurants in LA, and binge-watching TV shows.
Seth Houghton – Undergraduate Research Assistant, University of California Santa Cruz
Seth is a second-year undergraduate student studying Intensive Psychology at UC Santa Cruz and plays volleyball for the Banana Slugs. He has worked on several projects addressing substance use, including creating educational videos for adolescent drivers for an online intervention program run by AAA. His research interests include how increased cannabis levels affect brain development on today’s adolescents and how to help those who have experienced trauma. He also enjoys statistical analysis.
Emily Weirick – Undergraduate Research Assistant, Loyola Marymount University
Emily is a third-year undergraduate student at Loyola Marymount University majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. She is passionate about the human mind and human behavior and wishes to use her knowledge to help others. She aims to become a clinical psychologist specializing in trauma and addiction treatment. Outside of academics, Emily enjoys reading, baking, eating, and working out.
Olivia Newell – Undergraduate Research Assistant, USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences
Olivia is a fourth-year undergraduate student studying Health and Human Sciences with a minor in East Asian Languages and Culture. With a passion for studying patterns of human behavior, she hopes to pursue a career in medicine that will allow her to provide relief for people struggling with psychological disorders and/or addiction.
